Makzo is a music producer from Toronto, Ontario who now calls London home. Makzo puts a modern twist on an old school style. His music is described as chill hip hop fused with jazz, R&B and electronic elements, citing influences including Ta-ku, 9th Wonder, J Dilla, Mr. Carmack and Tom Misch. 

Having been releasing music since 2017, it was his 2020 single ‘Leaves’ and the follow up EP, ‘Anecdotes,’ which gained millions of streams on Spotify, cementing his growing popularity in the lo-fi beat scene. His first full length album ‘Wanderlust,’ a 10 track project with each song featuring a different artist (some of the most notable being innovative drummer The Kount, and producers Leavv and goosetaf) was released in 2021, and has also made waves on streaming platforms with millions of streams once again. 

Since then, he has released multiple singles and collaborations each with their own chill, head-bopping rhythms and smooth melodies. His recent collaborations ‘Any Day Now’ and ‘Fuerteventura’ with guitarist Guillaume Muschalle showcase Makzo’s ability to complement the artistry of one musician while imbuing the tune with his own flair. Makzo has amassed over 40 million streams across all platforms, and continues to grow within his creativity and skills which have enabled him to work with multiple producers, vocalists, visual artists, and labels and have also taken him on to perform at shows in the UK, Europe and North America.
